The following letter was mailed home to Red Mill parents/caregivers on Monday, August 18.

Dear Red Mill Students and Families,

I hope you have had an enjoyable and relaxing summer and are looking forward to the start of the  new school year. On behalf of our entire Red Mill staff, we would like to welcome all of our new and returning students! Our teachers and staff are excited for the upcoming year and have been busy preparing for a successful school year.

Red Mill is very pleased to welcome staff joining our team this year:

  • Samantha Wagner- Special Education Teacher
  • Kelly Carrk – Grade 3 Teacher
  • Amanda Wyman- Teaching Assistant
  • Rebecca Balascio – Monitor- Cafeteria/Recess
  • TBD – Monitor – Cafeteria/Recess

Enclosed with this mailing is your child’s classroom/teacher assignment. School Supply lists for each grade level and neighborhood bus routes and pick up times are readily available online on the Red Mill page of our district website, www.egcsd.org.

As always, we encourage families to use our buses as the most efficient means of arrival and dismissal each day. This will alleviate the neighborhood traffic resulting from long car lines. If you plan on driving your child, you must email Claudia Mangione – mangionecl@egcsd.org as soon as possible, but no later than August 29 so we are prepared for the first day of school. Arrival and dismissal procedures for parents driving are available on our website.

If your child brought home their district issued Chromebook at the end of the school year for a summer program, please make sure the device is charged and sent to school with them on the first day of school.  Returning students and students new to our district will be issued devices during the beginning weeks of school.

This year, we welcome our incoming kindergarten students and their parents for a “Kindergarten Meet and Greet” on Tuesday, September 2nd. Additional details are enclosed for kindergarten parents. This will be a time for you and your child to visit the classroom, drop off supplies, and meet the teacher and take a short bus ride before the new year begins.

The first day of school for all students in Grades K-5 is Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025. School begins at 9:00 a.m. and Dismissal is 3:30 p.m.

Our PTO will be hosting a “Welcome Back Picnic” to be held out back by our playground on Friday, September 12th beginning at 5:00 p.m. We hope to see you there!

I would like to extend a special welcome to our incoming Kindergarten students and their families, as well as any students in grades 1-5 who will be new to our school this year. I know all of our new students will find Red Mill to be a happy environment that fosters a love of learning!

I am looking forward to the start of the school year with you and your child. Enjoy the final days of summer. Should you have any questions regarding the opening days of school, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

Helen Squillace
Principal
