The East Greenbush Central School District provided a Capital Project update to the community during its public Board of Education meeting on Wednesday evening.
Phase 1A
Phase 1A, which includes the Columbia tennis courts, basketball courts and roof replacement, will be completed this fall ahead of schedule.
- Tennis courts and basketball courts were opened to the public on August 14
- Shot put and discus areas completed August 8
- Columbia roof is expected to be completed by the end of October
- Punch list walkthrough was done on September 24
- Detail work that will be completed over the next few weeks includes replacing smoke hatches and adding ladders
- The Columbia roof comes with a 30-year warranty
Phase 1B
Construction for Phase 1B, which includes the Goff athletic fields, access road and elevator, is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 29. This phase is expected to run through 2026.
- Electrical work for field lighting will begin on September 29
- The following week, clearing will begin for the new access road that connects Hays Road to Goff Middle School
- Utilities work will begin this fall so that when spring comes, contractors can start work on the turf field and track
