Students in the DPS K-2 Communication Skills Class made applesauce during a hands-on activity on Wednesday morning.
Visit our Facebook page to see inside the classroom of DPS Special Education Teacher Abigail Kissane’s K-2 Communications Skills Class. On Wednesday morning, students in Ms. Kissane’s class rotated through three different stations for Applesauce Day during their centers time. They made applesauce, stamped with paint on apples, and played in the sensory bin.
Ms. Kissane, five teaching assistants and a speech language pathologist helped the students complete the activities while utilizing assistive technology and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices such as tablets and buttons.
