school board recognition week image
This week marks
School Board Recognition Week, and our district is taking the opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated community members who serve on our Board of Education. Their commitment is crucial to the success and continuous improvement of our schools.

Board members serve as volunteers and dedicate countless hours outside of their regular jobs and family lives to ensure our students receive the best possible education. They hold public meetings, discuss and establish policy, and help set the direction for the school district.

We are immensely grateful for the service and leadership of the following individuals:

  • Michael Buono, Assistant Clerk
  • Cyndi Herron
  • Rob Marchiony
  • Rob Panasci
  • Samantha Phillips, Deputy Treasurer
  • Robert Shane
  • Jesse Temple
  • Kimberly Turner, President
  • Catherine Van Orden, Vice President
  • Holly Thorpe ’26, Ex Officio
  • William Bollam ’27, Ex Officio Alternate

“Serving on the school board is a truly selfless act of volunteerism to a community,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kurtis Kotes. “It demands countless hours, requires navigating significant challenges, and involves constant engagement with the community – all while working relentlessly to ensure our students have the optimal learning environment they deserve. I am deeply grateful for their commitment and I hope the entire East Greenbush community will join me in recognizing this essential service.”

Thank you to all of our school board members!
