Goff Fort William Henry Field Trip

Last week, 7th grade students at Goff Middle School took a field trip to Fort William Henry, where they saw history come alive and were immersed in the sights and sounds of the fort. Students had a chance to talk with British Regulars, hear the thunder of a Brown Bess musket, and witness a live cannon firing.

They also visited the New York State Lake George Battlefield Park and Visitor Center, where they walked among monuments and the remains of Fort George dedicated to preserving French and Indian War and Revolutionary War battle sites.

Afterward, students took a cruise around Lake George with the Lake George Historical Association, learning about the region’s land formations and the grand estates that lined the shore in the 19th century.
