
Contractors are building a new access road connecting Hays Road to the Goff Middle School parking lot as part of Phase 1B in the Capital Project.
The East Greenbush Central School District provided a Capital Project update to the community during its public Board of Education meeting on Wednesday evening.
Phase 1A
Phase 1A, which includes the Columbia tennis courts, basketball courts and roof replacement, will be fully completed this fall ahead of schedule.

- Completed and opened to the public on August 14
- Shot Put and Discus Area

- Columbia Roof
- Roofing membrane completed August 22
- Mechanical equipment replaced and functioning as of August 12
- Smoke hatches installed
- Roof access ladders completed
- Preliminary punch list completed
- Final walkthrough is scheduled for next week
- The Columbia roof comes with a 30-year warranty
Phase 1B
Construction for Phase 1B, which includes the Goff athletic fields, access road and elevator, began on September 29. This phase is expected to run through 2026.
- Access Road Connecting Hays Road and Goff
- Completed tree removal and associated grubbing
- Established sub-grade
- Started placing crusher run
- Track and Turf Field
- Installed temporary fence around site
- Completed feeders for new sports lighting
- Preparing for track and turf field construction in 2026
- Removing existing topsoil and starting new fill
- Starting underground drainage work
- Installing foundations for new lights
Phase 2
Construction bids for Phase 2, which includes Red Mill air conditioning, playground and library and the Goff library, will open on December 11. Construction is scheduled to start in February 2026.
“I am very pleased to see the progress of our capital project and the facility improvements that are taking shape across our district,” said Superintendent Dr. Kurtis Kotes. “Our administrative team and our construction partners have worked well together to move this project forward while being financially responsible with our funding.”
