Four East Greenbush Teachers Win Broadview Educator Grants

Four teachers in the East Greenbush Central School District were awarded Broadview Educator Grants on Tuesday evening at a ceremony at the Broadview Federal Credit Union headquarters in Albany. Each of the grants are worth $500 and are meant to support classroom supplies, activities or projects.

Congratulations to the following teachers!

  • Meagan Asenbauer – Columbia English Teacher – “Book Tasting/Genre Exploration Stations”
  • Shondra Conyers – DPS Kindergarten Teacher – “Going for Gold in Kindergarten: Building Champions in Learning”
  • Abigail Kissane – DPS Special Education Teacher – “Sensory Motor Space”
  • Julie Reilly – DPS 3rd Grade Teacher – “Building Strong Minds & Capable Hands”

The grant funding will directly support students. For example, Mrs. Kissane will furnish a portion of her classroom with sensory motor equipment such as a trampoline, swivel chairs, tactile sensory boards and sensory tube lighting. The goal is to create an in-classroom space for students to go when they are in need of regulation and sensory input.

Out of 120 applicants this year, 30 were selected in the Capital Region.
