Columbia Varsity Baseball Coach Chris Dedrick was inducted into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy as a member of the Class of 2025.
Coach Dedrick was honored alongside a distinguished group, which included a mix of Major League Baseball greats, executives, and top high school coaches from across the state.
Following a standout playing career for Ithaca College, Coach Dedrick has led the Columbia baseball program for the past 17 years. He has compiled an overall record of 162-102 (.613) and won six Suburban Council championships, four Sectional titles, and the 2023 New York State Championship.

Chris Dedrick coached Columbia to the New York State Championship in 2023.
“I am incredibly honored and profoundly humbled to be inducted into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame,” said Coach Dedrick. “To stand here representing the Columbia Baseball Program is truly the highlight of my career. I want to extend my deepest and most sincere gratitude to my entire coaching staff—you are the unsung heroes who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty for our student-athletes. Finally, thank you to all the former players and their families. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to coach in such an awesome baseball community, and I will forever cherish the opportunity you gave me.”
Coach Dedrick’s commitment extends far beyond the Columbia baseball program. As a physical education teacher at Green Meadow Elementary School, he has spent years shaping the lives of students in the East Greenbush Central School District. His work in the classroom and on the field reflects a passion for teaching fundamentals, fostering a strong work ethic, and instilling lifelong fitness.
“This is an incredible accomplishment and well deserved for Chris’ many years of dedication to the sport of baseball and our East Greenbush students,” said Columbia Athletic Director Ryan Jones.
Congratulations to Coach Dedrick!
