The Columbia Girls’ Volleyball team won the Section 2 Class AA Championship on Friday evening, defeating Bethlehem 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-13) at Saratoga High School.

The Blue Devils were led by Keira Cook (15 kills, 2 blocks, 3 aces), Tessa Warner (28 assists, 13 digs), and Cat Lopez (26 digs, 6 assists).

“Friday night was a big program win for us. After falling short last season, our girls were driven from day one to get back to the championship game,” said Columbia Head Coach Chris Hosley. “This group has worked relentlessly, pushing each other every day in practice to get better. We’ve experienced both the highs of winning and the lows of losing — in practices and matches — and have learned to use both to our advantage.”

Columbia will play Fayetteville-Manlius on Wednesday, November 12 in the NYS Sub-regionals at Tully High School.
