On Friday morning, students continued learning about the moon as part of their Objects in the Sky science unit. Through a hands-on activity, they visually displayed the different phases of the moon by rolling out clay, cutting out shapes of the moon, and then pasting them onto long black sheets of paper.
Other activities in the unit have included:
- Reading fiction and nonfiction books such as “Moon: Earth’s Best Friend” by Stacy McAnulty, “A Big Mooncake for Little Star” by Grace Lin, and “Papa Please Get the Moon for Me” by Eric Carle
- Researching the moon on Pebble Go
- Writing an All About the Moon book
The learning has also taken place at home with students observing the moon with their families at their homes and drawing each stage as the moon changes.
