Green Meadow Elementary School donated $500 to Wicklund Warriors, a charity that supports families impacted by blood cancers, on Friday afternoon during its monthly Character Education assembly. A check was presented by School Psychologist Sue Rys to Deanna Wicklund, the founder and president of Wicklund Warriors.
Throughout December, students and staff at Green Meadow participated in “Fun Wednesdays” to show school spirit and support a good cause.
“Today, Green Meadow made a donation to Wicklund Warriors as part of our character education initiative focusing on the trait of the month – ‘Caring,'” said Mrs. Rys. “Our students learned that caring isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we do. Through small acts like spirit days and $1 donations, they saw how giving together can make a meaningful difference for others. As a new staff member at Green Meadow, I am so proud to be a part of this caring community.”
