The East Greenbush Central School District is now accepting applications for the 2026-27 pre-k program for eligible four-year-old children. The program, which is free for families, will start in September 2026.
The number of pre-k seats available for next school year has not yet been determined. Enrollment will be based on the number of applications received, state and federal funding, and overall K-5 enrollment as this affects available classroom space. In the current school year, there are 165 pre-k students at nine different locations. A similar number of spots should be expected for next school year.
Pre-K Application
- Online Application (deadline to apply is Friday, February 6 at 4:00 p.m.)
- Paper applications are available at all elementary schools and Central Administration
2026-27 Pre-K Program
- Students must be 4 years old as of December 1, 2026 and must be district residents (check district map).
- Applications will be accepted starting January 9, 2026 through February 6, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
- Number of pre-k seats is TBD and will be based on the number of applications, budgetary resources and classroom space.
- Eligible applicants will be selected randomly through a lottery drawing scheduled for a date to be determined. The lottery will be open to the public.
- Families will rank their top three preferred pre-k sites prior to the lottery.
- Students selected in the lottery will be placed at sites based on family ranking and availability.
- Any students not selected through the lottery will be added to a waitlist.
- No tuition cost to families.
- Transportation will not be provided.
