Capital Project Update: Phase 2 Contractors Selected

The East Greenbush Central School District provided a Capital Project update to the community during its public Board of Education meeting last week. The update included selecting contractors for Phase 2 of the project as well as an overview of the budget.

Phase 2

Phase 2 of the capital project “Building a Brighter Future” includes work at Red Mill Elementary School and Howard L. Goff Middle School. Construction is scheduled to begin during Winter Recess in February.

The bids were recommended by the district’s architect LaBella Associates and construction manager Turner Construction, and then approved by the Board of Education at their public meeting on Wednesday evening.

Phase 1B

Construction continues this winter for Phase 1B, which includes the Goff athletic fields and the new access road connecting Hays Road to the school parking lot.

  • Track and Turf Field
    • Installed temporary fence around site
    • Completed feeders for new sports lighting
    • Preparing for track and turf field construction in 2026
      • Removing existing topsoil and began bringing in new fill
      • Starting underground drainage work
      • Installed foundations for new light poles and installed poles and lighting
  • Access Road Connecting Hays Road and Goff
    • Completed tree removal and associated grubbing
    • Established sub-grade
    • Started placing crusher run
