Columbia High School Music Teacher David Bresnahan has been nominated for the Barry Manilow Music Teacher Award. He is one of only 10 music teachers in the Capital Region to be nominated.
Sponsored by The Manilow Music Project, this award honors outstanding educators who go above and beyond to bring music to life for their students. The award is presented in each tour city where famed musician Barry Manilow performs, and Mr. Bresnahan is in the running in conjunction with Manilow’s upcoming April 20th concert at MVP Arena in Albany.
The Manilow Music Teacher Award winner receives $10,000 in support—$5,000 in cash and $5,000 in “Manilow Bucks” to purchase instruments for their classroom—plus a VIP concert experience. The winner will receive VIP tickets to Barry Manilow’s concert and will be presented their award in person during a special backstage ceremony with Mr. Manilow.
Mr. Bresnahan directs the Columbia Symphonic Band and the Columbia Jazz Ensemble, and he teaches two Guitar classes.
