Columbia High School juniors Bethany Lewis ’27 and Lyla Maguffin ’27 had their artwork on display at the Art in 3 Dimensions Show on February 11 at the W.B. Haessig Art Gallery at Mohonasen High School. The art exhibit received 241 submissions from 16 area high schools, with only 79 pieces selected for the show.

This is the second year in a row Bethany had artwork accepted into this competitive exhibition. Her realistic ceramic sculpture of a rat, titled “Mr. (Vanilla) Bean,” was created in Valerie Cafarelli’s Ceramics/Sculpture course.

Lyla created her 3D painted foam core piece, titled “Zap,” in Mrs. Cafarelli’s Cartooning/Illustration class.

Both students attended the opening reception with Columbia Art Teachers Valerie Cafarelli, Alison Savoca and Andrea Neiman.

Congratulations!
