On Monday, students were introduced to entertaining speeches. They learned that the sole purpose of an entertaining speech is to help the audience enjoy the presentation by making them smile, relax, or even laugh.
Students explored different techniques they can use, including humor, exaggeration, and suspense. Their speeches will be 4–7 minutes long and can cover topics such as: what to do when you’re bored, how to survive high school, or a story from their own personal experience.
Public speaking is a valuable skill for our students, and this class helps them improve their communication in everyday life. They learn how to prepare informative, persuasive, and entertaining speeches.
