Visit our Facebook page to see inside the classroom of Genet Kindergarten Teacher Susan Pagones. Kindergarten students make it rain! As part of their weather unit, students participated in a fun, hands-on “Rain Cloud” experiment.
By layering shaving cream over water, students created a “cloud” and used a pipette with blue dye to sprinkle over the “cloud” surface. As the dye saturated the shaving cream, it leaked through to the water below, creating a rain effect. Students acted like real scientists by predicting what they thought would happen, observing their own rain clouds and those of their peers, and finally drawing conclusions about what they discovered.
