The East Greenbush Central School District recognized its 2025-26 Volunteers of the Year at the public Board of Education meeting on Tuesday evening at Green Meadow Elementary School. They were nominated by administrators from each school as well as the Athletic Department.
The Volunteers of the Year spend countless hours reading to students, helping teachers in classrooms, coordinating school events, organizing fundraisers, building sets for musicals, and volunteering as coaches.
“Your contributions make our schools and our community a better place,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kurtis Kotes said during the ceremony. “We could not be filled with more gratitude for all of our volunteers here tonight – for the hundreds and probably thousands of hours that you give to our children and to help strengthen the community in the ways that you do. On behalf of the Board of Education, our Central Administration, a heartfelt thank you from all of us.”
During the volunteer recognition ceremony, each honoree received a certificate and a special gift.
Congratulations to our Volunteers of the Year and thank you for your contributions!
