Student musicians from the East Greenbush Central School District have had an exciting and successful few weeks, representing their school community at both a regional festival and a special performance in New York City.
On April 17 and 18, students from Howard L. Goff Middle School and Columbia High School participated in the Suburban Council Music Festival at Ballston Spa Central School District. The festival brings together top student musicians from all 16 Suburban Council schools to rehearse and perform in select ensembles.

“Being selected for this festival is a strong recognition of each student’s hard work and musicianship, and the district is proud of how they represented East Greenbush,” said Columbia Symphonic Band Director David Bresnahan.
The excitement continued in New York City, where the Columbia Symphonic Band and Chamber Orchestra traveled to perform at the historic Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. Performing in such a well-known venue gave students the chance to share their music with a wide audience while experiencing one of the country’s most iconic cultural settings.
