During Spring Recess a group of 34 students, staff and family members from Columbia High School experienced a once in a lifetime trip to Peru through Education First Tours.
They traveled all over Peru, beginning in Lima before flying into the Andes Mountains. In the Andes they visited Cusco, Ollytantambo, Pisac, and Puno. They learned a great deal about their culture and history, even eating a local food – guinea pig!
The tour group visited Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, where they had amazing weather and made deep connections with both history and nature.
The trip ended with a tour of the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca, where they visited the floating islands of Uros.
“It was a truly incredible journey that created memories that will last forever!” said Teacher in Charge Dan Wagner.
Special thanks to the chaperones and tour guides!
