The Goff Jazz Band, directed by Erin Upson, participated in the Music in the Parks Festival on Saturday at Holyoke High School in Massachusetts, placing first in its division and second overall with a rating of Superior. The band performed two adjudicated pieces, “Blue Train” by John Coltrane and “Birdland” by Josef Zawinul.
Additionally, baritone saxophone player Gabe Horton won an award for “best solo.”
