The East Greenbush Central School District celebrated teachers, staff and administrators at the public Board of Education meeting on Wednesday evening at Genet Elementary School. Three separate groups were recognized – tenure recipients, mentors and mentees, and individuals who are retiring this school year.

Each employee was announced, and welcomed on stage to receive a certificate. The meeting paused for a short reception in the back of the auditorium so the celebrants could gather with colleagues, students, families, and board members.

“We talk about having a wonderful school district. We talk about the great things that go on here. And yes, it’s our students and our families that give us the reason and the purpose to be able to do that but it’s our staff that carries out that mission,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kurtis Kotes. “And to be here tonight to celebrate those at the beginning of their careers, those that support careers, and those that are going on to the next phases of life, what better joy could we have.”
