All fifth graders from the East Greenbush Central School District elementary schools gathered at Schodack Island State Park in Castleton last week for the annual 5th Grade Mixer. It was an opportunity to meet students from other schools before they start 6th grade together at Howard L. Goff Middle School in the fall.
Students rotated through different stations that included kickball, wiffle ball, lawn games, and a science and geography activity. They also ate lunch together.
The event was sponsored by the East Greenbush Education Foundation.
Special thanks to the fifth grade teachers and staff, Goff staff, parent volunteers, Transportation Department and the Education Foundation Board members who assisted with the event.
