Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Eric Litwin performs at Green MeadowEric Litwin, the best-selling author of the original four “Pete the Cat” books and “The Nuts and Groovy Joe” visited Bell Top, Genet and Green Meadow Elementary Schools this week. At each school, Mr. Litwin strummed his guitar, sang songs and told stories to captivate the students.

Best-selling author Eric Litwin performs at Bell Top Elementary School on Thursday.

Amidst the silly and fun sing-alongs, Mr. Litwin – who is a former teacher – stressed the importance of reading.

“I want you to know that reading is the single best thing you can do for your brain but you have to do it because you love it,” he told students at Genet Elementary School. “Your brain makes no distinctions between Captain Ahab from the classic Moby Dick and Captain Underpants. Your brain does not care which captain it is. It just wants you to read and be happy. So my advice to you is read and be happy.”

Mr. Litwin signed books and performed at Genet and Bell Top on Thursday and at Green Meadow on Friday.

Special thanks to the PTOs who sponsored these performances!
