Dear EGCSD Staff and Community:

The East Greenbush Central School District was made aware of sexual harassment allegations through social media posts this morning. The anonymous posts on the Instagram account, Me Too Columbia, allege incidents which occurred in East Greenbush, New York, including at Columbia High School. We have reported these allegations to the East Greenbush Police Department and are providing our school community with important resources regarding sexual harassment.

The East Greenbush Central School District continuously strives to ensure a positive, safe and healthy learning and work environment for everyone. Incidents of sexual harassment and all other forms of discrimination will not be tolerated.

Our District takes all sexual harassment allegations seriously and we encourage students and staff who have information regarding alleged incidents to inform the District’s Title IX Compliance Officer, Marissa Cannon. If you believe you have been subjected to sexual harassment, you are encouraged to complete the complaint form for reporting sexual harassment to the best of your ability and submit it by mail to: Marissa Cannon, Title IX Compliance Officer, East Greenbush Central School District, 29 Englewood Avenue, East Greenbush, New York 12061. Or, you may submit it electronically to cannonma@egcsd.org. You will not be retaliated against for filing a complaint. You may also report such information to law enforcement at East Greenbush Police Department by calling 518-479-2525, Attn: Detective Sgt. Guadagnino or via email at mguadagnino@egpolice.org.

The district and law enforcement will conduct all investigations and respond to such sexual harassment allegations in accordance with the law and district policy.

Sincerely,
