Following a recent off-campus incident at a private residence, the East Greenbush Central School District has addressed a violation of our Athletic Code of Conduct involving student athletes from multiple sports. Consequences are being administered in accordance with the Athletic Code of Conduct to all students involved.
Columbia High School hosted its Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday afternoon at Budnowski Field on the high school campus. The pep rally opened with an entertaining performance from the cheer team and then followed with competitions among the four classes in flag football, cheerleading, musical chairs, and limbo.
Starting in 2026-27, there are no admission fees to attend any regular season home games at Columbia High School. However, all spectators for varsity football games must have an electronic ticket from Hudl Ticketing for free entry into the game.
The East Greenbush Central School District officially opened its new turf field, six-lane track, and multipurpose courts at Howard L. Goff Middle School on Tuesday evening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on the field. Former Superintendent Jeff Simons, who led the district for nine years and was a driving force in the current capital project, cut the ribbon surrounded by his family, student representatives, school administrators, current and former school board members, and construction partners.
The East Greenbush CSD will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new turf field and track on Tuesday, August 25 at 6:00 p.m. at Howard L. Goff Middle School. The new athletic complex behind Goff is part of Phase 1B of the “Building a Bright Future” Capital Project. In addition to the turf field and track, there are new courts for basketball and tennis/pickleball.
Columbia High School will offer a new Unified Bocce team for students this fall, following a proposal to the Board of Education at its public meeting on Wednesday evening. Starting in September, the team will be open to all students in grades 9-12, bringing together those with and without intellectual disabilities to train, compete, and build friendships.
