The East Greenbush CSD Board of Education adopted the proposed school budget for 2021-22 at Wednesday’s public meeting. It will be voted on by district residents on Tuesday, May 18. The proposed budget totals $103,535,117 and includes a tax levy increase of 0.0%.

East Greenbush Central School District residents passed a $99,778,012 budget for the 2020-21 school year and approved the purchase of eight school buses during this year’s Budget Vote and Board Election. A record turnout of 7,300 ballots were returned through the all mail-in voting process that was established by New York State due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ballots can now be counted if mailed in and received by Tuesday, June 16. Ballots hand-delivered by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 can also be counted. These ballots can be dropped in our ballot box in front of Central Administration during normal business hours 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Superintendent Jeff Simons and Assistant Superintendent for School Business Finance Lawrence Edson normally host budget presentations for parents at each school leading up to the Budget Vote and Board Election. However, due to school buildings being closed, these meetings will be held virtually in a Zoom meeting on Thursday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m.

It will be voted on by district residents through absentee ballots which are due back to the district office by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9. There will be no in-person voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
