COVID-19 Updates and Information

Grades 3-5 will return for full time in-person learning starting Monday, April 26, which will fully reopen all elementary schools. The K-12 Full Remote program will still be available to families who choose that option. Due to state regulations, Columbia and Goff will remain in the Hybrid Model at this time. The East Greenbush CSD will continue to evaluate options for Columbia and Goff students to receive increased in-person learning at 6 feet social distancing where possible.

Schedule for Live Virtual Wednesdays:

  • Period 1: 9:20 am to 9:51 am
  • Period 2: 9:56 am to 10:27 am
  • Period 3: 10:32 am to 11:02 am
  • Period 4: 11:07 am to 11:38 am
  • Period 5: 11:43 am to 12:14 pm
  • Period 6: 12:19 pm to 12:49 pm
  • Period 7: 12:54 pm to 1:25 pm
  • Period 8: 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm

Students must have their Student IDs on their persons at all times while on school property. Students who do not have their ID will not be able to grain entry into the cafeteria until after they are identified by school staff.

Attention all spring sport athletes: Please make sure that you are signing up and getting cleared for your spring sports in the Health Office. There is not a whole lot of time left before the season starts!

Attention all girls interested in trying out for Softball: Make sure to sign up in the health office ASAP. The season begins Sunday, April 25th and you must be cleared by the health office to try out.

Do you sew, knit, crochet, embroider or would you like to learn? The next Threads Club meeting is at 3:00 pm on Thursday. For new members, please email Mrs. Seney at for details!

Attention all students – Unified basketball sign-ups are underway. If you are interested in playing unified basketball, please sign up in the Health Office. Please see Mrs. Di Bacco in the Guidance Office if you have questions.

Attention all Juniors: Please remember to select and submit photos from your time spent at both Goff and Columbia. We are particularly interested in group photos of the Class of 2022 from the Homecoming Dances and related activities, the Snowball dance, athletic events, 8th Grade Graduation, and Goff Activity Nights. Wednesday, April 21st is the deadline to submit photos. Please contact Mr. DiDonato or Mrs. Asenbauer if you have any questions.

April is National Poetry Month! The CHS Library has a large collection of Novels-in-Verse and Poetry books for you to borrow. You can log in to our catalog to place a hold on a book or email Mrs. Banks to reserve a book.

ATTENTION SENIORS: Now is the time to apply for scholarships! There are many Local scholarships posted on Naviance. We encourage you to check your Naviance often as scholarships are being added weekly and deadlines are approaching quickly! If you have any questions, please stop by the Guidance Office.

There are Summer Youth Employment opportunities available for students. The application deadline is Tuesday, May 18th. Please see Mrs. Dunigan in Guidance for an application and more information.

Columbia High School is considering a Summer 2021 Driver Education program. More information.

A reminder for all students who are planning on getting a school lunch – you need to make sure you have your school ID on you in order to process the transaction. In addition, a reminder that all students, regardless of income level, are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch until June 30, 2021.

Attention all students and staff – The East Greenbush Central School District will be participating in a fundraiser called “Ball Caps for Babies” day this coming Thursday and Friday. This is a charity, which is run by Mrs. Tarbox, who is a Kindergarten teacher at Green Meadow. This organization was created to provide care packages to families who have a baby in our local neo-natal intensive care units at our local hospitals. If you would like to make a donation, please stop by the main office. Students and Staff can wear their favorite ball caps on Thursday & Friday in support of Brinley’s Bags.
