Study issues and gather information associated with the District’s grounds and facilities, make recommendations to the Board of Education for improvements including maintenance, renovations and future capital projects.
Engage parents, employees, and the community input into the process for studying, developing and gaining support for future capital project referendums.
Develop facilities plans that align with the educational goals of the District and all applicable state and federal health and safety requirements.
Annual Objectives/Priority Areas
The Long-Range Facilities Committee’s annual objectives and priority areas are as follows:
- Oversee the implementation of the building condition survey and the development of the long-range facilities plans, advise the Board of Education and the Community of progress.
- Study financial information and development of schedules related to the District borrowing for capital construction work including debt service considerations, building aid reimbursement and the impact of borrowing for future construction on the local tax levy
- Ensure alignment of facilities plans with enrollment projections considering trends in enrollment and the impact on instructional space needs
- Develop plans to modernized classrooms and co-curricular facilities including auditoriums, cafeterias, science labs and music, arts and athletic facilities within resources available
- Ensure alignment of facilities improvements with all federal and state health and safety standards and requirements.
