Green Meadow Named 2021 National Blue Ribbon School

Green Meadow Elementary School was named a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education on Tuesday morning. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance. Green Meadow is one of only 325 schools in the country, including one of 19 schools in New York to receive the 2021 National Blue Ribbon School award. Congratulations to Green Meadow students, teachers, staff and families!

About Goff Middle School

Goff English classHoward L. Goff Middle School is designed to meet and respond to the unique needs of early adolescents. It is our purpose to structure the setting in which learning can take place in order to promote natural, social and cultural growth for a student.

Goff Middle School is organized into three “Houses” – Grade 8 in the Blue House, Grade 7 in the Green House, and Grade 6 in the Red House. Within each “House” there are two teams. The Houses and Teams were implemented with the belief that each student’s total educational experience would be best met with a “school within a school” structure. Teams provide communities for learning where close, trusting relationships with adults and peers create a climate for personal growth and cognitive development. The potential improvements realized within a team structure are flexible scheduling, team teaching and interdisciplinary instruction.
