Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Substitute Calling Service

Teachers

The District uses a phone service to arrange for substitute teachers. Please dial 207-2450. You will hear a recorded message asking for the following information:

  • Name
  • School, Grade, Subject Area
  • Date of Absence (multiple dates if you know you will be out more than one)
  • Reason for Absence
  • Special Instructions (where plans are located, room number, etc.)
  • If you have a preference for a particular substitute, his/her name

You need to arrange for a substitute for all occasions (sickness, field trips, conferences, etc.). You should always try to arrange for a substitute well in advance of the date of absence, if possible. Calls to the service should be made no later than 6:00 a.m. for grades 9-12, 6:30 a.m. for grades 6-8 and no later than 7:00 a.m. for grades K-5. Any absences reported after these times must be reported directly to your building.

Each building requires that you provide a folder that contains all information that the substitute will need. This should contain seating charts, exact plans for the sub to follow, schedules, room evacuation plans and any other important information. Remember to sign for your absence in your school’s main office on the day of your return.

Non-Instructional Support Staff

Call into your building’s main office and speak with the school secretary as early in the morning as possible.
