The Board of Education of the East Greenbush Central School District is conducting a search for a new Superintendent of Schools with the experience, leadership, character, and energy to direct an outstanding school system in its quest for higher levels of achievement and excellence.
Applications were accepted from January 23, 2025 through February 22, 2025. The new superintendent is anticipated to start on July 1, 2025 upon the retirement of Superintendent Jeff Simons.
The Board has asked Questar III BOCES to coordinate the district’s search.

Stakeholder Survey
As part of the search process, faculty, staff, students, families and community members were invited to provide their input. A stakeholder survey was conducted starting December 19 through January 9 to collect feedback about the leadership qualities, expertise, and experiences that matter most in a superintendent. Input gathered through the survey will be used to help define the position profile and desired selection criteria for an ideal candidate.
