The East Greenbush Teachers Association volunteered at the Nassau Resource Food Pantry on Saturday to help assemble 106 baskets for families in need this holiday season. Many teachers, along with their family members, volunteered which made for an efficient and joyful endeavor.

The volunteers filled baskets with canned goods, gravy, stuffing, potatoes, bread, pies, cookies and candy.

Families will also be getting either a whole turkey or a ham to have at their holiday celebration.

“It was very encouraging to have so many people volunteer their time on Saturday morning to help out families in need from our district,” said Dan Wagner, Columbia High School Social Studies Teacher and EGTA member.
