As the East Greenbush Central School District continues to evaluate its reopening plan, Superintendent Jeff Simons indicated at a public Board of Education meeting on Wednesday evening that kindergarten students may be able to return to full time in-person learning at all five elementary schools in November.
All district schools will dismiss 15 minutes early on Monday, November 9 (A Day) and Tuesday, November 10 (B Day) for a state-mandated Emergency Go Home Drill. All students will be dismissed to the location parents have indicated on the Student Verification Form in case of an emergency closing. This drill is designed so that our district can practice procedures for transporting students home in the event that inclement weather or a similar emergency affects our schools.
Four students from the East Greenbush Central School District won prizes in CAP COM’s Fire Prevention Week Drawing Contest! This year’s theme was Fire Safety in the Kitchen and each winner received a $25 Visa Gift Card.
East Greenbush Central School District elementary schools will host virtual open houses for parents on Thursday, October 15. Parents will have the opportunity to hear presentations from their child’s teacher regarding programs, classroom routines, curriculum, and “virtually” visit classrooms.
The Capital District YMCA is providing community access to the fresh and wholesome food needed during the COVID-19 national emergency. The YMCA will be distributing free boxes of food with assorted fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs and dairy products on Fridays in October.
