Pre-K Program

The East Greenbush Central School District has 61 students enrolled in its Pre-K Program for the 2022-23 school year. This includes one section each at Genet, Donald P. Sutherland and Red Mill Elementary Schools, and seven students at the Early Childhood Education Center.

The Pre-K Program will be renewed for eligible 4-year-old students during the 2023-24 school year. The program, which is free for families, would start on the first day of school in September. There will be slots for up to 61 students, including one section each at Donald P. Sutherland, Genet and Red Mill Elementary Schools, and seven students at the Early Childhood Education Center.

Pre-K applications will be available starting Monday, February 27, 2023 and can be submitted online or in person at any elementary school. The deadline for applications is Friday, March 31, 2023.

All applicants will be entered into a lottery, which will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Genet Elementary School auditorium. An independent auditor will conduct the lottery and each applicant will be assigned a number prior to the lottery draw.

DPS/Genet/Red Mill:

  • Three sections of Pre-K (one each at Genet, DPS and Red Mill Elementary School)
  • Operated by Questar III BOCES
  • Students were selected randomly through a lottery drawing in April 2022
  • School day runs 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
  • Pre-K Program follows the East Greenbush CSD School Calendar
  • No cost to families
  • Transportation will not be provided

Early Childhood Education Center:

  • Seven students attend Pre-K at the Early Childhood Education Center
  • Students were selected randomly through a lottery drawing in April 2022
  • School day runs 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
