Parents of resident students who are eligible for transportation to non-public schools, under the 15-mile limit, MUST submit an application for transportation on or before April 1, 2016 for the 2016-2017 school year.

  • Education Law § 3635-2. requires that parents submit a written request to their public school district, for transportation to a nonpublic school, by April 1, or when not residing in the district on April 1, within 30 days after establishing residency. The purpose of this deadline is to enable school districts to budget funds and make necessary arrangements to provide reasonable and economical transportation.

All requests for daycare/alternate location transportation, for the 2016-2017 school year, MUST submit an application on or before April 1, 2016.

At its January 25, 2012 meeting, the Board of Education approved a transportation policy change. Beginning in September 2012, as a cost-saving measure, the District will align itself with the New York State Education Department’s guidelines for Daycare/Alternate Transportation in School Districts.
