Governor Andrew Cuomo announced earlier today that public schools in New York State will be permitted to open for in-person instruction in September. The decision was made based on the fact that all regions of the state are in Phase IV of the reopening and that the daily infection rate of COVID-19 remains at 5% or lower over a 14-day average.
The East Greenbush Central School District’s Reopening Community Forum was streamed live on Wednesday evening. Superintendent Jeff Simons gave a presentation about the preliminary reopening plan and then a panel of district representatives responded to questions and concerns during the live streamed event.
The East Greenbush Central School District has scheduled virtual community forums on Wednesday, August 5 (6:30-8:00 p.m.) and Thursday, August 13 (6:30-8:00 p.m.) to discuss the reopening of schools. Both events will be live streamed and provide an opportunity for members from the school community to provide feedback regarding the preliminary reopening plan.
The East Greenbush Central School District announced more dates and times for families in the school community to pickup free food at Columbia High School. This service is open to anyone.
To apply for free or reduced price meals for the 2020-21 school year, complete the application, sign it, and return it to your school as soon as possible. Be sure to include the last four digits of your Social Security Number and your signature on the application.
