Six Graduating Seniors Earn NYS Seal of Biliteracy

Six graduating seniors from Columbia High School earned the NYS Seal of Biliteracy, becoming the first students in the East Greenbush Central School District to earn this distinction. Rachel Clarke ’24, Molly Graiff ’24, Luke Savage ’24, Ben Strodl ’24, Drea VanVranken ’24 and Caitlin Weinheimer ’24 will receive an official seal from the New York State Department of Education to be placed directly on their diplomas as well as a medallion to wear at graduation. Congratulations!

Ava Weiss ’26 Wins NYS Championship and Federation Championship

Columbia High School sophomore Ava Weiss ’26 won a state championship in the 400m hurdles at the NYSPHSAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School in Syracuse. She followed that by winning a Federation Championship in the 400m hurdles on Saturday, and lowering her own school record time to 60.63. Congratulations!

Columbia High School published its annual art and literature magazine “Labyrinth” on Wednesday. The magazine features photography, drawings and poetry created by students and staff from this school year.
