Howard L. Goff Middle School students showed their patriotism earlier this summer when they wrote notes to American troops serving in Afghanistan. The notes were included in more than 100 care packages containing books, playing cards, toiletries, and snacks, that were sent to the troops by Blue Star Mothers, an organization comprised of mothers of past and present service men and women.
In the notes, students expressed gratitude to the troops for their service and also asked them questions.
The note writing project was coordinated by Goff school nurse Tracy Heritage.
