What do you do once all your little ones are in school? Well if you are Dolores Davis you dedicate your time to taking care of more children!
Mrs. Davis has been a dedicated employee of East Greenbush Central School District since 1979. She started her career as a substitute cafeteria monitor before getting a permanent placement in the then Genet Middle School. Mrs. Davis worked at Genet until she retired in 2000 to help raise her grandchildren.
However, shortly after she retired, Mrs. Davis realized how much she loved being involved with the District. It didn’t take long until she returned as a substitute monitor in the elementary school cafeterias.
After another 16+ years as a substitute, students and staff are so fortunate she is still working in East Greenbush schools. Mrs. Davis recently finished a long-term substitute placement at Red Mill. Students hugged her and gave her homemade cards. The next day, she was back at the school, filling in for another monitor.
“She has such a way about her,” said Red Mill Principal John Caporta. “She’s such a caring person and always steps up to help us.”
