On a chilly morning this past Saturday, the Goff Student Council, with rakes in hand, set off to a Community Work Day at the Double H Ranch, in Lake Luzerne, N.Y. The Double H Ranch, co-founded by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman, provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses.
Seventeen seventh and eighth grade Student Council members went to help with the fall cleanup of leaves and pine needles. The students spent the morning raking thousands of leaves and millions of pine needles. While the morning was brisk, the students smiled as they gave their time to the Ranch. The Student Council intends on going back in the spring to the next Community Work Day.
