Kindergarten Returns Full Time Starting March 1

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

The East Greenbush Central School District was informed by the East Greenbush Police Department on Tuesday morning that no one was attempting to steal a chromebook last week. The district had been alerted about an individual in the community who may have been fraudulently posing as an employee of the school district and visiting homes to try and collect chromebooks.

The district contacted police and sent an email to all parents of students regarding the incident. Following an investigation, the police determined the incident was a misunderstanding and that the individual in question was not attempting to steal a chromebook.

As stated previously, the district is NOT collecting chromebooks from people’s homes. All students should keep their chromebooks at home over the summer and bring them back to school in the fall. Only seniors are returning their chromebooks and that was done at Columbia High School on Friday, June 12.

We appreciate community members reporting concerns when they arise as well as the prompt response from the East Greenbush Police Department.
