Columbia Teacher Kelley Sheraw raking leaves on Veterans DayThe East Greenbush Teachers Association, in cooperation with the Town of East Greenbush, once again organized raking of lawns for local veterans on Veterans Day. East Greenbush teachers and town employees were joined by local Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Little League teams this year.

In total,18 lawns were raked and more than 400 lawn bags were filled with leaves.

“The East Greenbush Teachers Association is committed to setting an example of what it means to give back to the community,” said EGTA President and Goff Art Teacher Alison Hosier. “Annually taking time on Veterans Day to show appreciation for those who have served our country is one of the many ways we can demonstrate gratitude. It’s always an honor to volunteer alongside our students and colleagues.”
