Red Mill Elementary School students are warming hands and hearts this Valentine’s Day. Fourth graders recently coordinated a Give Gloves campaign by collecting new pairs of gloves that will be donated to students at Giffen Elementary School in Albany.
In total, the students collected 100 pairs of gloves through this community service program.
“A community service project like this helps our students develop a sense of social awareness,” said Mrs. Hayes. “All students, especially younger ones, can learn patience and empathy while getting to see first-hand how they can have a positive impact on others. We were told about a need in a neighboring school and our students rose to the occasion to share their LOVE and generosity with others. “Like Debasish Mridha once said, ‘A simple act of kindness could be the source of great happiness.'”
Proud of our 4th graders at Red Mill for collecting and donating 100 pairs of gloves to students in a neighboring school district through a Give Gloves campaign. #HappyValentinesDay pic.twitter.com/XlbZGTzkBm
