All East Greenbush CSD schools will have a half day on Friday, April 26 due to professional development. Dismissal Times: Columbia (10:03 a.m.), Goff (10:40 a.m.), Pre-K at DPS/Genet/Green Meadow/Red Mill (10:45 a.m.), Genet (11:15 a.m.), Bell Top (11:30 a.m.), DPS (11:30 a.m.), Green Meadow (11:30 a.m.), Red Mill (11:30 a.m.).

East Greenbush CSD Conducts Lottery for New Pre-K Program

The East Greenbush Central School District conducted a lottery for the 2022-23 Pre-K Program on Monday evening in the Genet Elementary School auditorium. The lottery, which was open to the public, was operated by an independent auditor.

The first 54 children drawn in the lottery are being offered spots in the Pre-K Program. All remaining applicants will be added to a wait list.

Parents will receive a phone call this week if their child was selected for the Pre-K Program. At that time, the district will confirm intent to enroll in the program and send a registration packet to the family. Registration packets are due back to the district by Monday, May 2, 2022.

If a student who was selected in the lottery is withdrawn from the program by their parents or they are determined to be ineligible, that slot will go to the next available child on the waitlist.

The Pre-K Program, which will be operated by Questar III BOCES, is scheduled to start in September. The school day will run from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Transportation will not be provided.

There will be one Pre-K class at each of three locations:

  • Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School
  • Genet Elementary School
  • Red Mill Elementary School

Parents will be asked to provide their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice of locations. The district will do its best to accommodate families but cannot guarantee preferred location.

There is no tax impact for this program. It is being partially funded by state aid ($5,400/student) with the balance being funded by the American Rescue Plan.
