Board of Education Meeting/Budget Workshop – April 15

The next Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Administration Conference Room. The meeting will include an update to the proposed school budget. The public may attend the meeting in person or watch the live stream.

Community Raises $3,000 at Jurassic 5K for Mental Health Awareness

Students walking at the Jurassic 5KMore than 120 people attended the Jurassic 5K Walk/Run for Mental Health Awareness on May 21 at Columbia High School.

The event was hosted by the East Greenbush Central School District in memory of Thomas Bellisario, a former student who attended Green Meadow and then Goff Middle School and Columbia High School. Thomas fought a courageous battle with depression before passing away in 2019.

The event collected more than $3,000 in donations that will benefit the Thomas Bellisario Memorial Scholarship and provide mental health programming and support within the school community.

Special thanks to the following agencies that attended this event: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Start Children’s Center, Northern Rivers/Mobile Crisis, St. Peter’s Crime Victim’s Services, Therapy Dogs International Schenectady Chapter, NoPiates and the Rensselaer County Department of Mental Health.
