Students from Goff Middle School’s MAP Program (Middle School Alternative Program) went on recent field trips to enhance their classroom instruction. The 8th graders visited the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park and the 7th graders visited the New York State Capitol, the New York State Museum and Corning Tower in Albany.

At Hyde Park, students analyzed and discussed important documents regarding the Pearl Harbor attack, they toured FDR’s home, and paid tribute to the burial site of FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt.

The 7th graders toured the NYS Capitol, observed the local area from the top of the Corning Tower, and built different locks for the Erie Canal using connectors.

“These field trips afforded our students the opportunity to see and experience the rich history of our area,” said Social Studies Teacher Timothy Galvin.
