Teachers and related service providers in the East Greenbush Central School District are making a difference every day in and out of the classroom. In the month of October, members of the EGTA participated in multiple fundraising events to support charities and awareness efforts.
The EGTA raised $1,666 for the American Cancer Society by participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Washington Park in Albany. On October 13, the EGTA wore pink in all schools to show support and raise awareness for those affected by breast cancer.
EGTA members also supported domestic violence awareness by putting purple ribbons on their classroom doors, and on October 25, the EGTA wore purple and raised $220 in donations for 2 Harts One Soul. These donations will be used to offset the cost of acquiring supplies to make Thanksgiving bags for Unity House.
