Meet the Candidates Night – Wednesday, May 13

Residents will have the opportunity to meet the four Board of Education candidates on Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Howard L. Goff Middle School cafeteria for Meet the Candidates Night. There are three open seats in this year’s election, which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19. Each of the four candidates will discuss their qualifications and answer questions. The event will be hosted by the League of Women Voters.

DPS Raises $435 for Charity Through Candy Cane Pull

Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School’s 5th grade classes hosted a Candy Cane Pull this month to benefit Things of My Very Own, which provides crisis intervention services to children impacted by extensive abuse and/or neglect.

Thanks to the generosity of all of the 5th graders donating candy canes and DPS students and staff purchasing the candy canes, the Student Council collected $435.

For $1.00, students could pull a candy cane. If the candy cane was marked, they won a fabulous prize. All students got to keep their candy canes.
