School Budget Vote and Board Election - May 21

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a school budget for 2024-25 that maintains all programs and services with a 0.55% tax levy increase, which is within the NYS Property Tax Cap. Residents will also vote on a $116 million capital project that would improve school facilities and grounds across the district with no impact to local taxpayers, the replacement of eight school buses, which if approved by voters, will be fully paid for by the Bus Purchase Reserve Fund, and elect three individuals to the Board of Education.

Ornament donation to Albany Medical Center
Thank you! ¡Gracias! Merci! Danke! to the Howard L. Goff Middle School staff and students who donated ornaments to the children’s hospital and the NICU at Albany Medical Center. Goff collected more than 100 ornaments in memory of Regan Shetsky, the niece of Spanish teacher, Colleen Meltz and the cousin of three Goff students.

Wrapped ornamentHere is the thanks from the The Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med:

“We’re very thankful for a beautiful donation from Regan’s Acts of Kindness! The Meltz and Shetsky family delivered nearly 500 ornaments for babies and families in our Birth Place, NICU, and children’s hospital! The annual donation is in memory of Regan Shetsky, who was hit by a car in her nursery school parking lot on January 4th, 2017. Regan’s parents, Kelly and Mark Shetsky, established Regan’s Acts of Kindness to spread joy and kindness in their daughter’s name. They also delivered more than 1,450 ornaments in the Syracuse area and 150 to Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington.”
