Fifth grade students at Bell Top and Donald P. Sutherland Elementary Schools showed off their creativity as they made their own ATCs, or artist trading cards, in art class. ATCs are small pieces of artwork created with any art materials. The only rule is that the card must be 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches in size.
The 5th students in both schools created and collaged multiple ATCs, then they picked one to send to elementary students in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The students from Massachusetts are creating their own ATCs will mail them to the the 5th grade students at DPS and Bell Top. The fun and creative art project has led to pen pals.
“They all really had fun creating their ATC,” said Art Teacher Dianna Chalavoutis, who led the project with fellow Art Teacher Karli Powers.
